Cooking & Our Super Bowl Pick! - 2/6/2011
We like to go out for breakfast, lunch, and dinners. We wouldn’t say we are “foodies” but we both love food. To date, we have been to nearly every restaurant in Hudson, so on Wednesday we decided to try something different and cook dinner. Our original thought was to make vegetarian chili. Rach put Steve in charge of looking up an easy to make recipe and sending it to her later in the day. By noon, Steve thought he had accomplished his goal. He sent her a 5 star, EASY to make, Emeril Lagasse recipe. Now the term “easy” is subjective. For Steve anything more involved than a bowl of cereal or a peanut butter and jelly sandwich is difficult. So when he sent the e-mail, he sent the caption. “This looks confusing!” Needless to say later that evening, we elected to make pizzas. The first pizza was made with a whole-wheat crust, a combination of mozzarella and provolone cheese, onions, mushrooms, and cheese-its. The second pizza was also made with a whole-wheat crust, but topped with good ol’ peanut butter and jelly…yum. We popped in the movie “Up In The Air” with George Clooney and enjoyed! Dinner was a success!
Today is Super Bowl Sunday. We ran for 3 hours of trails on Saturday in the beautiful CVNP and this morning we pounded out an hour and half of roads around Hudson. It was about 30 degrees on both run, but today’s run was pretty nice. The oncoming traffic in Hudson is so nice. People actually slow down, wave, and move out of your way! After our run we went to Yours Truly for breakfast, some shopping at Heinen’s, and then to Panera for coffee and to do some reading and work. Next we headed back to the house to make our snack for tonight’s Super Bowl get together at Rachel’s mom’s house. Rachel found a great recipe for Kale chips. Kale is a “super food” with tons of iron and tasty too! Oh, guess who we are cheering for in today’s game?
